Although I don’t wear tight shorts like I did when I was a kid, when
they were in style, I don’t look good in the real baggy ones either.
Those MMA shorts, while they look good on younger people, they
just don’t look good on me. Now a baggy shirt is just fine, hides my
imperfections that comes with old age.
Those guys and girls in their MMA hoodies look sinister when the have
their hood up. When they take them down, will the look mean or nice.
How will you judge their fighting ability when you finally see their face.
Will the win or lose. You don’t have to look tough to be tough. You just
have to look tough to intimidate. Me.I just wear my hoodie to keep my
head warm.
MMA fighter Jason “Mayhem” Miller was found naked in a church and arrested.
Miller broke into the church and was arrested and being held on $20,000 bail.
Miller, a popular fighter has lost 3 of his last 8 fights. Why Miller wasn’t wearing his
MMA shorts and was naked in the church, nobody knows. Maybe he has taken to many
blows to the head. I’m sure he wasn’t leaving a donation for the church, but was probably
trying to rob it as he did break into the church. What happened to his clothes, nobody knows.
If you have ever dreamed of playing a pro sport, or are trying
to get good enough to play one, think longevity. You can wear
MMA shorts and get the crap kicked out of you and if you are
lucky, your career will last a few years. Football is very short,
basketball a bit longer and baseball even longer. But if you pick
golf, you can play professionally at the age of 65. Not only
is it not very hard on your body, but you get to travel to great
places, play the best courses in the world and get treated
like a king. If you are in the top 150 players, you are making
around 1 million dollars a year minimum, not counting
endorsements. Now, go work on that swing.
I just read that Kordell Stewart retired from football. He used to
be the quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played there for
8 of his 11 seasons in the NFL. He last played in 2005. Where has
he been? Maybe he has been hiding under some MMA hoodies.
He sure hasn’t been playing football, at least for the last 6-7 years.
Was he just trying to keep the dream alive, or did he just forget
to retire a long time ago. Known as “Slash” during his playing days
because of all the things and positions he could play, he was fun
to watch. Good luck Kordell and maybe you should get a pad of
paper and start writing things down so you don’t forget them,
like retiring when you should.
Some say the most thrilling seconds in sports is bull riding. I cant argue that as it takes
a lot of guts to get on top of a mean, nasty 1,800 pound animal that wants to kill you.
If you watched the Kentucky Derby and the jockeys on top of those horses getting bumped
around with 19 others, that takes plenty of guts as well. Football players may be meaner,
the fighters in their MMA shorts may be tougher but those little guys on top of 1,000 pound
animals are pretty tough as well. Whose is the toughest in sports? I guess it depends on your
skill level in whatever your doing.
Once the king of golf, Tiger Woods is now an embarrassment to the
sport he used to rule. On the 16th par 3 hole Friday, Woods had a
bad shot. Like a little child, Woods kicked his 9 iron and let out with
some bad words. Woods should get his mouth washed out with soap
and sent to his room. Maybe we should get one of his former mistresses
to give him a spanking. He sure deserves it, but then again, maybe he
would enjoy it. Golf doesn’t need Woods anymore, there are plenty of
great young stars coming up who respect the game. Go home Tiger, put
on some mma shorts, get in the ring and let someone beat some sense
into you.
Is Tiger Woods done as the best player on the planet to ever
play golf? He’s probably done having affairs, that didn’t work
out to well for him, but is his dominance in golf over. If Woods
was a fighter in MMA shorts he would be bloody and bruised with
the thrashing Phil Mickelson gave him on Sunday. Starting the
round, Woods was 2 strokes ahead of Mickelson. At the end, Phil
was 9 strokes ahead and the winner. Tiger has lost his edge and that
killer instinct that made his so great as a golfer. He still must have
demons in his head for being a lousy husband and father and his
golf game may never be the same.
You’ve gotta be tough to be in Mixed Martial Arts. No, it’s not a bunch of people with a mixed bag of paint brushes to paint some art. It’s the toughest guys around, beating the hell out of each other. This is a much tougher sport than boxing. You also have to be more skilled. Mixed martial art fighters are not a bunch of thugs in mma hoodies. They are skilled fighters who can use their feet as well as their hands. It is a fast paced fight and fun to watch. It’s not a way I would want to make a living, but I do love watching it. If you have never seen it, try it.
