Through time, all sports teams have changed the looks
of their uniforms. In basketball they used to be really
tight shorts and knee high socks. Baseball players are
now wearing their pants down to their ankles. Football
players wear the tightest jerseys out their. NHL jerseys
are still as baggy as ever. I guess it doesn’t matter because
players won’t grab onto them because they need to have
two hands on the stick. I wonder what will change next.

The Colorado Avalanche should change their logo.
Of all the NHL logos, theirs is the most fitting this
year. It is a picture of an avalanche. Fitting for them,
as they have been sliding downhill for years. I love
the team, but it sure would be nice to see them win a few
more games. Same owners as the Nuggets which are doing
great. You have to wonder if they like basketball better than
hockey because they seem to spend more time on them
improving the the hockey.

Elvis has left the building. If you are a Denver Bronco fan, that is not good.
I don’t know if Elvis could sing, but he sure could rush the quarterback. Next
season, Elvis will have some new NFL helmet logos to get used to. A Raven
will replace a Bronco. To bad he and his agent couldn’t get things done on time.
To bad they waited until the last minute to make a decision. We wish him well and
will miss him in the mile high city.

Time To Change Hats

I live up in the mountains and I have horses. The hat we wear most up here
is a cowboy hat. Problem is, when I go into Denver, it is like another world.
No cowboy hats, just some time of baseball cap. So next time I go to a hockey
game, I am going to buy a NHL cap. That way I can switch hats as I am dropping
in altitude to keep up with the every changing styles.

If you are a hockey fan and from Chicago, you have to love the way your
hockey team has been playing. For the last several years, one of the worst
NHL jerseys a player could wear was a blackhawk jersey. Not any more.
They are on a role and it is great to see them playing great again. Reminds
me when I was young watching them, many many years ago.

Although there are a lot of great NHL logos out there on the players
uniforms, nothing is cooler than the goalies helmets. Compared to
NFL helmets, they are a work of art. I can’t imagine what it takes to
paint those up. Does the goalie help in the design or do they hire
someone to come up with the layout. Either way they are way cool.

It took the NHL to long to settle the lockout. It has hurt attendance and
not a lot of people have come back to watch. The games have not been
very entertaining, probably due to the long off season and the short
training camps. With football, the king of sports and getting press 12
months a year, hockey should have settled this sooner. You should get
out your NHL bedding and put it on your couch, because if the games
don’t start getting more exciting, we will all be falling asleep in front
of the TV.

The NHL has offered the players a 50% split. This is a great deal for the players.
I wish my boss would offer me 50% of his profits. Hopefully the players will take
the deal and put on their NHL apparel and hit the ice.

The NHL has cancelled all of it’s pre-season games. Players are starting to sign with other team
over seas. Get a clue NHL. Your sport is not that popular and this labor strike is really going to
hurt you. Sports fans would rather watch football than your game. Fans who love the game of
hockey will not be seeing their favorite players in NHL jerseys, but some foreign jersey in another
country. If this lockout lasts into the regular season, you will see the ratings drop to an all time low.

What Is the NHL Doing?

With all the competition in pro sports and TV for viewers, what is the NHL thinking.
without a contract, the owners will be locking out the players. In this economy, it will
put several regular people out of business. NHL apparel will not be flying off the shelf.
The NHL is the only sport to cancel an entire season. Hey owners, how did that work out
for you last time.
