The NBA draft is coming up and it is not something I will watch. Unlike the NFL draft,
it does not get much interest. If you have ever watched the NFL draft, it is an event.
This may be because football is way more popular than basketball. I would rather watch
16 football games than a thousand basketball games. Basketball to me has gotten to be
pretty boring to watch. Football on the other hand is always exciting as we wait for the
next big play. I don’t know what basketball needs to do to make it more exciting, but
something needs to be done. Maybe the should bring back those knee high NBA socks
and raise the basket up another few feet and let them hit each other more often.

I love my sports, always have and always will. I went to my nephews baseball game
last Saturday and boy oh boy has kids sports changed. You would think the kids are
playing for the World Series the way the parents act. Some are yelling at the ref’s
while the others are cussing out the coaches. It’s just a game and fun for the kids.
Even at the pro level, it’s just a game. The only difference is you have players making
millions of dollars for playing a game. People should enjoy sports as entertainment.
It changes nothing in the world. It’s not worth fights or having it wreck your whole week.
And it’s not worth buying Lebron James used NBA socks.

I am thinking of changing jobs and I have been looking around for something I might really
enjoy. I would like a career that I really enjoy, I get paid a lot, get to travel and don’t have
to work much. After much searching, I have found the perfect job. I am going to be a major
league baseball pitcher. After researching the job, it fits my criteria very well. I should make
in the neighborhood of 15 million a year, I only have to work once every four days and if I get
tired, they take me out. I will get to travel and stay in the finest hotels. And if all that is not
good enough, I get about 4 months vacation a year. As you can see, if you do the research,
anything is possible. Now I just have to see whose MLB caps look the best on me and contact
that team and offer up mu services.

Dale Earnhardt Junior finally won a race. It has been 4 long
years and 143 races to break his losing streak. His losing
streak is the 6th longest in NASCAR racing. As far as
NASCAR gifts go, Junior is the most popular driver on
the circuit. Way to go Junior, hope it doesn’t take another
4 years to get your next win. I don’t think your fans
can take it.

Hockey’s over, baseball is in full swing, basketball is going great. What will you watch this weekend?
I’m going for the US Open, the second major of the year. Although there are several golf tournaments
to watch each year, nothing is like the majors. To majors are like championships in other sports, except
gold has 4 a year and the other sports only have one. I could get in my car, put my feet on my
MLB car floor mats and drive to the park and watch a game, but because it’s going to be so hot,
I think I will stay at home and watch golf. What will you be watching?

Union Rags won the Belmont Stakes on Saturday in the longest
of the three big horse races. The Belmont is a grueling 1 1/2
mile race. “I’ll Have Another” which won the Kentucky Derby
and the Preakness was scratched 30 hours before the race. That’s
to bad because we have not had a Triple Crown winner in over
thirty years. Unlike NASCAR jackets, which are full of advertising,
it’s nice to see the jockey’s and the sport of horse racing haven’t
sold out to all the advertising.

Of the 4 biggest sports, football, basketball, hockey and baseball, football kicks the other
3′s in the butt. Football is also the biggest money maker of the 4, even though is has by
far the shortest season. NCAA apparel as a whole probably out sells the NFL, but for the
big 4, the NFL is king. Why is this?. It’s because of the regular season 16 game schedule.
If you miss one game, you miss a lot. With 16 games, 1 game means a lot if you lose. The
other 3 have so many games, if you miss a game you miss nothing. The other three should
shorten their seasons.

There are 53 players on an NFL roster. To me the toughest job is the backup
quarterback, the # 53rd player. In practice he gets very few reps with the first
team. In any given game, he is 1 play away from going from #53 to # 1. He is
then thrown into the game and expected to play as well as the starting quarterback.
With no reps in practice, his timing with the receivers will be off, the expectations
from the coaches and players will put stress on him. Although he is a professional
and payed well for his services, this is one of the toughest positions in all of sports.
On game day, he is wearing his NFL fitted cap, and on the next play he may be
wearing his helmet.

Kurt Busch, already on probation from NASCAR has been suspended
for one week for having another temper tantrum. Fired by his team
last year for bad behavior, Busch just can’t seem to keep his big mouth
shut. His probation has now been extended to the end of the year. Busch
better start realizing what a privilege it isĀ  to race NASCAR and what a
great life he lives or he will be trading his NASCAR shirts in for some
other kind of work shirts.
